You"re looking at one of the best series of small tractors ever made.... The 240 is a descendant of the 35/50, 135/150,..... line. They are about as good as it gets. They are designed as utility tractors, not a "downsized row crop" like most of Massey"s competition at that time. Very reliable engine. Good tranny/live power/hydraulics. Multi-power is a negative in my book. You are looking at a major increase in "worth" also. A tractor of that investment doesn"t need to be a mechanical nightmare. A lot of the utility tractors of recent years, ended up in the hands of people that have no idea what they"re doing, construction use, Used in place of a NEEDED much bigger tractor, the list goes on. Look it over good. make sure you"re getting what you want. You will be very happy with a 240. HUGE increase in usable power over an 8N. Almost the same sized package. Good choice.
