It helps if you can get by to see the tractor in person. Then you check the obvious. Does it start OK? Does it smoke much when running? Clutch and brakes feel OK? Sheet metal banged up? (That might tell you how hard it was used/abused) Any oil leaks? If you can"t see it, at least ask those questions of the seller. There"s nothing that can"t be fixed. You just don"t want the expense of doing that right after you buy it. $6000 sounds about right. Seen "em sell higher and lower.
