Well, still won't charge.

I put the non-bat volt wire that was on the reg's bat. terminal on the L terminal. I found the field and gen wires on the reg were reversed. I've run an additional ground to the reg. I've got bat volts to the bat terminal on the reg., only +/- 1.5 volts on arm. and field terminals on the generator. Had the gen tested yesterday by a guy I've known to trust for 8 years now. Tickin' me off pretty good now.
