I just picked up a 1961 International 240 and the clutch was not working too well. The adjustment was all the way out so I decided to break the tractor in half and put in a new one. A formidable task but I separated the two halves and replaced the clutch pressure plate and throw out bearing. The clutch disk wasn't bad but the throw-out bearing was shot. The sleeve under the throw-out bearing was also shot. I replaced everything in there, cleaned up the entire area and put it back together. Another fun job. The problem I have seems to be the same as when I started. The clutch grinds when I depress the pedal. I can't adjust the clutch pedal or get any disengagement of the clutch. Any suggestions as to what is going on?
