Hi Gary, I'm going thru the same problems myself and my tractor acts the same exact way. Once the load is up, it will stay. Just can't seem to get it up there. Steering and hydraulics are all okay & act completely normal. The lift system has it's own separate pump and in my case, it turned out to be that pump being bad. (It is the back pump, which is piggybacked to the main pump). The "Red" shop told me to pull the seat, then the cover plate. With the tractor at idle, lift the hitch and watch for any high-pressure leakage at the piston area and also at the relief valve, which is located at the right front corner of the upper compartment. There is also a buffer valve setting on top of that piston. If everything in this area is all right, the compartment will slowly fill with oil after cycling the lift a few times. I hope yours turns out to be something less, but they tell me that this pump is usually the problem because the pump bodies are made of aluminum and wear out. Allan
