656 Farmall Fasthitch' Real Slow'

This 656 Gas started suddenly,to lift slow without a load and will barely lift a load. The hydraulic loader lifts 'ok'. Is there some internal valve or O-ring leaking that may be causing this? When the hitch is raised it stays and don't settle down so I'm thinking the piston seal is good. Has anyone had a similar problem as a place to start looking first? Thanks in advance!
