5280 ft. to the mile The acre thing I all ways remember is one "rod" is 16 1/2 foot, by a half mile is one acre. So a 16 1/2 foot machine at 4 miles per hour is 8 acres per hour. Do this in my head while farming. So one round with 16 foot grain drill on my 1/2 mile field is about 2 acres, then refill drill box and figure planting rate. Good luck in the operation.
