180 Allis

I have the chance to buy a 180 diesel, the guy bought it as a repo from a bank. After he got it home, he noticed it was jumping out of a gear, (don't know which one) and he is replacing whatever gears are worn in the trans. He said he would probably want 5500 to 6000 depending on cost of repairs. Is this an average price, and what do I need to watch out for? Will just be pulling a haybine and square baler with it.
