2 techniques work pretty good on dirt but im not sure about in peat. Normally on an evening when its gonna be over 60 degrees out I wet the ground down good in the evening then around 10 or 11 pm the nightcrawlers will ocme to the surface. As far as shocking you can do it with a 12 volt car battery using metal rods driven a couple feet into the ground and spaced about 3 feet apart. Hook one battery cable to each rod and the crawlers will surface soon
