We've used Goodyear, Firestone, Armstrong, Titan, Michelin and B.F. Goodrich. The only bad thing I can say about any of those is the Michelin ones. The set we have is on the front of a John Deere 4850, and they're showing signs of extreme stubble damage after only a couple seasons. Goodyears on the back of the same tractor have no signs of similar damage. Our 4955 and 4755 run over the same fields and stubbles, and none of those tires are showing that sort of damage either. The 4955 got a full set of new tires a few years back. Kleber tires on the front, and our first try with Titan tires on the back. I run the 4955 the most, to do the bulk of tillage. I'm very impressed with the Titans. They're giving great traction, with no excessive wear. Several of our antiques have those Traction Field & Road, mainly because they're one of the few tires available in the obsolete sizes. In your situation, I'd definitely go with the 6-ply Titans. Titan is a new name in tires, but they seem to be doing the right things with their products. If you want to know more about this newer name, here's a link to their site:
