This is more of a computer question that a tractor question, but here it goes. I have been using my very limited knowledge of computers while sort of building my computer over the last few weeks so I can use it to restore my Farmall M. (I'm too cheap to pay $1000 for a nice new computer.) I recently installed a modem, and now have internet service. There is one problem that I have found so far. The graphics are poor, and error messages pop up saying I should be using 256 colors, instead of 12, or something like that. However, I do not have the option to switch to 256 colors (under settings, control panel, display, settings). I want to make some tractor related purchases on E-bay, but the pictures are very ugly, so I can't tell the condition of the parts. I need to know what dictates the 256 color option. Is is the graphics card, or operating sysytem, or what? If anybody has any information relating to this, please help out. Thanks!
