Something like a brush hog (of which Bush Hog is a popular maker; there are many others) would do well for you if you already have a tractor (with live pto is great, without you need the ORC mentioned here in many older threads). It cuts through anything, including wet grass, small tree sprouts & shrubby stuff, gopher mounds, last year's dirt ruts, etc. If you wanted hay to bale, or a lawn-type finish it's not great for that, but it will be the best implement for you. It is sort of a string trimmer, but the string is replaced with metal swinging arms and some really heavy steel & gearbox to take some abuse & whack stuff down. If you don't have a tractor, those DR things mentioned are pretty good, if you can handle walking behind it a couple times a year for 3 acres..... Would be cheaper than a tractor & brush hog, but not by much! --->Paul
