Sure you'll get your money from the bank when you first cash it. A cashier's check is a "pre paid" check. The bank will have to consider it good unless they have notice otherwise. If it looks bad then I think your still suspect for trying to cash it. However, when the cashiers check goes through the bank's system, with your name attached to it, they come after you for the full amount and any fraud charges. Any thought as to why he hasn't paid the "other guy" by now and why the "other guy" would wait for a tractor purchase to get monies owed to him. Come on folks, SCAM all the way!.
