I have a buddy with draft horses and when the trailer is loaded with horses and all his tack it weighs around 12,000 lbs. He has a Duramax Chevy and it gets right at 20 mpg loaded. I know all engines are different, even two in a row off the assembly line so maybe he has a really good one or maybe all those Duramax's are that good. His it the only one I have seen pulling that kind of load.
