Chicken manure often creates an imbalance in phosphorus (too much)causing some weeds to go wild, especially ragweed/pigweed, the best way to take care of the weeds in your case would be to add some calcium carbonate or other good source of calcium to your soil and grow a cover crop of buckwheat, flax or oats which use phos. I found out all of this the hard way and now use chicken manure very sparingly, it is very rich! I would stay away from herbicides myself, they stay around in the soil for a lot longer than the label says and could poison your family if improperly used, plus it won't solve the real problem of the imbalance.
