The oil consumption horror stories usually happen after a valve/seat grinding and new seals.HOWEVER they didn't know or where too cheap to replace the valve guides. Or the valve stems were also worn undersize.
With the improved intake vacuum and the valves wobbling, oil will be drwn between the valve & guides. The freshly machined seat & valve will quicky be ruined by the valve not squarely seating.
The three angle valve job is a good idea. I also make certain the intake manifold amd head ports match. Also blend all rough edges and casting flash out of the head ports. It's free HP.
