I would agree that there is something wrong and it needs to be ck.out. It's not the size of the engine thats the proublem we have a chevy C7 with dump box and a 366 it weighs 6 tons empty and over 30000 lbs. loaded and I also pull a trailer with up to 24000 lbs. on it and it gets around 7 miles average. Our 1980 C60 has a 350 in it and it has more power than the big truck and gets about the same mileage. My 86 C30 had no power and it was the cam shaft half the lobes were worn off. Adding aftermarket parts can in some cases just add more proublems. Have tried many times to add power with after market parts in my life (my 75 camaro was a rocket ship but looking back it took a lot of work to keep it going and it only lasted around 65000 miles) and never ever did it make less proublems. Stock is more reliable.
