set screw removal

i have astripped allen head set screw in a rear axle hub someone before me did not use a key
just run the screw down in the keyway on the axle and it fastened it self through rust or
mushrooming in the kayway the boss is cast and
i have ruined several drill bits and i am reluctant to burn it out any sugestions would be appreciated bob w [email protected]
