I remember getting into a nest of hornets as a kid riding a tractor with dad. We were plowing a small patch that hadn't been worked in a couple years and we turned up that nest. You never saw two guys hightail it to the house so fast in your life. I didn't get bit at all, but dad got it a couple times while making sure I got off the tractor okay before jumping down himself. I guess I still owe him one for that. But as for killer bees, I assume you're talking about the Africanized Killer Bees that have been invading the US for several years now. My parents have a pickle farm in southwest Michigan and we have a deal going with a beekeeper who puts out several hives at each end of the field every year. I was asking him if he was worried about working with bees knowing the killer variety is heading our way (north). He said that he isn't worried, because it's all a matter of reputation and labeling. When I asked about what he meant, he said, "Do you know what they call Africanized Killer Bees in Africa?" I said, "no," and he said, "bees."
