The balance is critical so front and rear weights may be needed if there is enough rear weight and traction to make the front end too light to control the tractor. At some point you can get too much weight and effect fuel efficiency and the life of the drivetrain. If you are in a flotation or compaction situation that requires duals they can be great even on a fairly small tractor.
