Thanks JohnB. Good to hear others have done similar bushing replacements. I got the steering shaft out yesterday and it looks pretty bad - ruined I think. The grease fitting is under the tractor and I think the previous owner did not know the fitting was there. New shaft or old, I will try your washer/bolt method. I bought a piece of all-thread to use.
