Leaky Fuel Shut-off valve on Ford 2000, bad gas

I recently suffered the damages from filling my tank on a '64 Ford 2000 with bad/old gas. To clean up things I had to remove the gas tank and the fuel shut-off valve to clean up the grunge. I replaced the gasket on the fuel-shut off (homemade gasket) and now I have a nagging leak. The leak is coming out of the threads for the shut-off screw. I did not see any O-rings on this shut-off screw. This leak happens whether the valve is open or shut. Is it possible to replace this fuel shut off valve? I have yet to find any replacements available. Do I have to remove the tank to remove the fuel-shut off valve, I can get to the two bolts securing it, although a tight fit. Also, is it possible/smart to put an inline fuel filter on this system in adddition to sediment bowl, will a gravity fed system work with an inline filter? This bad gas incident has proven to me that the sediment bowl will not stop all of the debris from getting into the carb.
