Buying a tractor without seeing it - am I crazy?

I need a tractor for my 35 acre place and I have a budget max of $5000. I can't seem to find anything in the area that meets my needs (specifically, I must have a loader). I can find tractors for sale on this website in my price range, but I can't go see them because of the distance. Have any of you bought tractors this way successfully? Any horror stories or tips to share? Thanks. Steve
