An overiding clutch will not do anything for his situation. The over-riding clutch is made for tractors with out independent pto's, like a Farmall H. What it does is when you are say bushhogging along and hit the clutch, it won't allow the bushhog to push the tractor, and you can shift gears w/out waiting for the pto to stop. How is the driveshaft attached to the gearbox on the mower? Seems there should be some kind of shear bolt, I haven't ever seen one w/out, not that there means there isn't though, but hard to believe one is set up like that. I would pass on them, or see if they can be modified to have one. You'd be better off to find another one, rather than risk a major repair to your tractor.
