Sounds like the transmission is attempting to be in two gears at once, thereby locking up. As it doesn't move in nuetral, I'd suspect the shifter that shifts the gears on the idler shaft may have stuck in an engaged position. IE, take off the top cover and check out your shifter.It's been over a year since I've been inside my Cub tranny,I might be wrong.
