Loader Hydraulic problem

I just installed a used loader on a Ford 2000. I replaced all the hydraulic lines and made everything nice. The unit is powered by a small pump that is driven via chain drive off the front of the engine. When I first fired it off it seemed to function perfect. However after about 20 minutes a lot of the Hydraulic fluid came out of the tank through the breather cap. The system became very slow to respond and groaned as if under a large load with each move of the control valve. Having to hold the control valve open for up to a minute before getting a slow, choppy response from the cylinders. Looking into the tank the fluid appears very bubbly. I don't know a lot about hydraulics so any help diagnosing this would be great.
