(544 and 656 are the same BTW, so when you read 656 it also applies to the 544)

There are two types of valves on these tractors, an inner valve which is open on both sides so oil can flow through, and an outer/end valve which has a closed side that routes the oil back through the valve stack to the return.

When you go to add a power beyond plate, if you want to retain the two factory valves, you need to replace the end valve with an inner valve. That's an additional, significant, cost. Your old valve has very little value because the demand is for inner valves to do power beyond.
