Lumber .... first off, lumber stored inside is something relatively new, well since places like Home Depot and Lowe's etc showed up. Back in the day, lumber was always outside. Sometimes covered but still outside. Being inside dries it out quicker and the result is warped boards. The biggest reason though is the picking that we all do, and you can't blame a guy for that with today's prices. Why buy a piece of lumber you can't use. The problem of course is that the staff are told to simply pile the rejected stuff back on the pile and that's what we have to fight our way through every visit. Not sure what the solution is.
