I am sure that you are probably aware of the size of Canada. And have a good idea of the population. Potatoes are a crop grown widely across the country. The tiny Island province of Prince Edward Island is quite famous for its red soil and potatoes, though it has a very small population , roughly 157,000. So naturally the potatoes grown there need to be father processed into frozen French Fries or made into potato chips, if not sold as fresh potatoes. Both Ontario and Quebec are much larger than PEI in both land mass and population, also grow more potatoes. The provinces of Manitoba and British Colombia also grow lots of potatoes. And place that has light sandy land with plenty of water to irrigate can grow potatoes.
