I purchased a tractor advertised as a Ford 3400 diesel and was given the serial number of C239075. Does this correspond to the Ford 3400 series? Any idea what year model?
They said the engine was rebuilt. I'm guessing it was replaced with an engine for a Ford 3600. Based on it has a dual fuel filter which I don't find on a 3400 and the air filter canister configuration is what I am finding on a 3600. Where would I find the engine serial number to check? What element of the number would indicate what tractor it was originally for? If it is a 3600 engine on a 3400 tractor are there any issues I need to watch for?
