We were away from home 12 days total in August for shows and festivals. Is this what retirement is like? If it is, I'd better not do it, it'd run me ragged.
I got some up hay in August, but it was so hot and humid, showers were popping up every few days, so putting up hay was a gamble. This week has been perfect though so far. I rolled up 102 bales yesterday, 96 last week before we headed for Indiana for a tomato festival Friday and Saturday. It won't take me more than 8 or 9 days to fill silo alone once I get at it. I just changed some tines on the rake and came in top fill my tea jug. The dew should be off before long so I can start raking.
