May try blocking the 3 point so it doesn't lower and then have a bucket to collect oil and remove hose at side of center housing. Take block or lift out so hitch can lower. If it goes down the problem is in the unit. If doesn't lower something in hose or hitch cylinder. May be a stupid question but did you lift up on the operating rod so the stop on bottom of rod would let rod go full forward? If problem is in unit all three outlet ports let pressure back in with rod full forward. Rear on left side does have a different ball seat that is opened to let oil flow back. So one thing to try if the seat is not opening is to move line to a port with different ball seat and see if it works. Another question is it cold enough to freeze at your location if oil has water in it? High condensation areas can built water in housings when sitting a while.
