1010 Gas converted to alternator negative ground.
I've tried three different gauges and a new sending unit and they all do the same thing. When I cut on power the needle will barely lift up despite having a full tank of gas. All 3 gauges have done this. Taking the sending unit out of the tank, grounding it, and moving it manually has no effect. I have a wire running from the Key switch to the B terminal on the fuel gauge, and then a wire from the T terminal on the gauge to the sending unit. The only way I can get the gauge to do anything is if I connect a ground wire to the ground post o the gauge, but then the gauge just reads full even if I have the sending unit out and at its lowest point.
