A few weeks ago the news reported that auto insurance companies would be giving rebates because of people using their cars less and ultimately causing less accidents. This was in response of the public asking how could auto insurance companies charge full price while people were stuck at home. Some were even talking about it on this site.
Then this past week the local news reported that auto fatalities in Louisiana were up over the past month as compared to the same time last year. One report blamed it on less congestion on the highway so people were driving faster. One report hinted that while people were off work they were still driving around going to the store and home centers more. Heck a few were most likely driving around buying tractor parts while they were off work.
My personal observation while I drive around making my deliveries has been that while traffic is lighter in morning after about 10 or 11 am traffic is much heavier as people off work get out and move around.
