I'm not so sure about that!
Oil filters typically have the oil entering through the outer surface, and exiting through the center core area of the media.
That won't work well with a roll of TP!
IIRC, the filters designed for TP had plates at each end of the roll with winding passages for the oil to enter and find it's way out of the TP roll.
If the O.P. takes some measurements of the old filter and looks in a (WIX, for example) oil filter catalog, there's a whole section showing drawings of hundreds of filters and their dimensions, should be able to match up something that fits.
