Unfortunately a lot of people in the SW are in denial about the impending water crisis, here in Arizona it's in the news, but I don't know if they will do anything about it until it's too late. There is a lot of big corporate agriculture near Wilcox and they are drilling wells 1,500 feet deep and 16 inches in diameter and pumping all they want, no restrictions. Neighboring residential wells are going dry, and a homeowner can't afford to drill a 1,500 foot well, so they end up hauling water. I bet they get by on less than 55 gpd when you have to buy it and haul it!
