I would say that once every other week or so there is a story of someone being awarded a multi-million dollar settlement due to a defendants negligence. Sure you have insurance, but insurance companies have limitations and sometimes exclusions for policy holders actions or lack of. Who would be living in your home next year if someone pulled out in front of you and you braked and swerved and your terramite rolled off and killed grandma in a third car? What if grandma was your neighbor?
