Off subject, but need help...

Need to cut a few dead pines and they must be roped off to ensure a precise fall. Trees are a good 75 ft tall. Climbing not an option. Professional with bucket truck too expensive. There are good solid limbs to tie off to from about 40 ft. and up. Managed to get one tree tied off by slinging a weighted cord over a limb and then pulling a rope up and over with the cord...I'm hoping there's a better way. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.
