The Right Oil to use in a TO-30???

Hello; This is a tuff one! I talk to old timers and they say 30 wt. is fine all year round 10 deg. to 110 deg. The Book says 20wt. for 50 deg. to 20 deg. and 10wt. for real cold. Some people say 10-30 dose it all and others 10-40 is the best. Some say detergent oil is bad for the seals and other not! Then theirs syntetic oil, it is either no good or the best thing next to a new tractor! Who do you listen to or is it just oil once it is warmed up, and it only makes a differance on starting the engine and oil flow then. So if the oil is warm dose it make a differance about the weight and 30 wt. is fine???
