I have used both and most recently sold my daughter's Ford Escape on Facebook.
Got lots of bogus hits from CL with stupid lowball offers, PayPal scams, you name it. Not one serious buyer. Facebook on the other hand brought several serious buyers and the 1st one who looked at the car bought it. There was some haggling but very minimal and frankly we got more for the car than we thought we would. Whole process took about a week and she was really happy with the results.
I still look for things on CL but to sell stuff today I think I will stick with FB.
