If the Sherman is an over/under box then the ground speed vs. PTO speed issue is no problem. Using an overrunning clutch with the PTO will offset one of the other problems with non-live PTO, i.e. the fact that running a bush-hog or other high inertia implement could cause you to run through the barn door, even with the brake on. The N's have the 3pt hitch, so that's no problem. The only thing left is getting the CG low enough to keep from tiping on your hills. This can be done by setting your wheels wide enough and using turf tires. If the loader is fully hydraulic, with down pressure, is seems to be a decent deal. You probably would want power steering with the loader though. I think there are add-on kits for the N's for just about anything. There sure are a lot of them out there. The Ford 650-651 660-661 or 850-851, 860-861, particularly the LCG models would have all the features you are looking for (assuming you get power steering, only an option on the earlier models) without adding anything, although the price could be up to $5,000, instead of $3,000.

Jon called me to help him discover why his tractor wouldn't start
