Believe it or not, I have actually moved household furniture, etc. on my gooseneck flatbed. Never bothered to tie it down or secure it any other way, and NOTHING bad happened. 'Course the entire trip was less than 1 city block, and there were people riding on the trailer to hold on to the wobbly stuff. OOPs, I just admitted to transporting PEOPLE on an open, flatbed trailer.
Anyhow, we got stepson and his family safely moved into their new home.
