I think you pretty well covered it.

Might just add brakes on all axles and no matter what you do, the (fill in your state here) DOT [i:654c4848f0]will[/i:654c4848f0] find an issue and give you a ticket that will wipe out your children's inheritance.

Violation of any of these laws or by laws which may be found in the Y.T.D.O.T handbook may result in the entire extinction of all man kind as well as cause but not limited to ceasing of the sun to rise

Had a trucker say be there in about 20 minutes several hours later he showed up got pulled over for a check and they even checked how tight his lug nuts.

If you give em five they?ll want ten , give em ten they?ll want 15 ! We?ve got to nip it in the bud

I just re read the handbook it is in fact 300 pounds
which means some of us can?t even haul ourselves
without breaking the law

I don't have much of a sense of humor on this, because you're saying that anyone that DARES suggest you do something the right way, or at least a not totally unsafe way, is a "Barney Fife" buffoon and should not be listened to. That is BS.

Just because "nothing bad happened" that one time you did it and got away with it does not mean that it is an acceptable way to haul, or that there isn't a better, more reliable, less risky way to do it that would be much better for a rank amateur.

Knowing what you can get away with comes with experience. The people asking about this are NOT experienced, or else they wouldn't be asking. Let them determine what they feel they can get away with after they get a feel for it. Of course by that time they already have the proper equipment, so it's a moot point.

Believe it or not, I have actually moved household furniture, etc. on my gooseneck flatbed. Never bothered to tie it down or secure it any other way, and NOTHING bad happened. 'Course the entire trip was less than 1 city block, and there were people riding on the trailer to hold on to the wobbly stuff. OOPs, I just admitted to transporting PEOPLE on an open, flatbed trailer.

Anyhow, we got stepson and his family safely moved into their new home.
