I'm with you on that. Either a pandemic or one heck of a war (probably nuclear) to reset the population. Problem with china's approach was it was forced and not accepted nation wide. It worked for a while but the people didn't want it and will be right back where they were before long. Pandemic or war will reset the population but unless the people internalize the idea of controlling population growth it will only reset the population growth to a lower number. Nuclear war has other not so nice consequences and make part of the world uninhabitable for quite a while.
