Check to see if plunger head is loose in bale chamber. Check bale chamber & area where hay enters bale chamber for wear. One advantage of JD over a NH is JD sq baler of this era has only "2" chains to wear out & require replacement. I don't remember replacing many chains on JD sq balers.
