Someone told me recently that his average cost to keep a cow and get a live calf year over year was 260 dollars, I figure I spend about 320 dollars, actual cash expense, including each cows share of property tax but no depreciation of buildings and facilities, strictly cash money out of pocket. Worm and vaccinate twice a year, fertilze pastures, corn and hay fields, baling expense, grinding feed, feeding tractor fuel and maintenance, salt and mineral and utility bills for water. Just wondering what it costs in other areas.
