Yesterday, I, Bryce Frazier, became the proud owner of a Duramax Diesel Truck....
I've been saving, and looking, and learning, and waiting for a good deal, and I finally fell into one.
I bought a 2001 Chevrolet K3500, Crew Cab, Long Box, Dually. Has a goose-neck hitch in it. LT Truck, full leather interior. Onyx Black on the outside, Tan interior. Duramax 6.6 Diesel, Allison Automatic 5 spd. Truck was bought new in Canada, and was fully loaded! OnStar, Auto Climate control, etc.
All in all, it is in decent condition. Has 240,000 miles, the kicker is that they rebuilt the trans 3000 miles ago, and had the paperwork to prove it!
What it needs:
It has a code set for "glow plug mis communication", dad said that is a easy fix. It does NOT shift properly at all, goes all over the place, and needs a Shift Control Module (why they sold it), which is another easy fix. It has a code set for "ABS Brake System Failure", which, is probably another easy fix, we just have to find it. Has a small crack in the right dually fender, but that can be fixed. The interior is FILTHY, and it smells like someone died in the back seat, but it is all very cleanable.
All in all, I scored. $4200 brought it home. Dad and I are both REALLY excited. I finally have the Duramax I've been wanting. Neighbor has a programmer for the LB7's, so by the time I am done with it, I should be around 450 horse, and 600 Ft Lbs of Torque. BEAST! ;)

All of my part books date back to 1964 and New Holland have changed some part numbers. They usually put the old Ford part number on the package. I was suppressed when I looked up the part number of the auxiliary drive shaft because for some reason the part number went through a radical change and it lost its "Basic Part Number". Ford part numbers follow the following rules. Most part numbers are in three parts. The middle part is called the
