Traditional Farmer, I waited for dewalt to make a gun only because I already have dewalt batteries and charger. I bought only the gun. I haven't had an issue with my gun. Love it.
So buy the gun you have batteries for, because batteries will sooner or later take a dump.
BIL, bought all new cordless rigid tools from HD, because HD warranties not only the tool but batteries for life, providing you register and jump through all the hoops. Not sure if rigid makes guns, but if they did that would be something to consider if you don't have cordless tools.
Or if anyone has a lifetime battery that would be a strong argument to go that way. In my case I started buying dewalt cordless tools 25 years ago. Tools have held up for me. I have about every tool dewalt makes, $100's of dollars worth, so I'm stuck with yellow tools and have no regrets with tools, just hate their batteries, so I use aftermarket batteries. geo
