I read this topic and I am quite taken a back by the elaborate confinement you fellas need to handle your beef cattle. While I understand the need for good and strong penning, it is sort of a hidden cost in the beef trade. The risk of human or livestock injure can be great handling cattle that are for the most part , never touched by a human hand. My most elaborate piece of equipment is my trimming shoot ,and a rope halter. As my Vet used to say ,"A dairy farmers idea of a head gate is 6 feet of rope and a strong post".
