Hey guys,
wondering if any of you can offer some advice on fixing the roof on my barn, I lost a couple panels in a wind storm about 2 weeks ago. It's a old gambrel style, so I know I'll have to rent a man-lift or something to get up there, but that's the easy part (I think). At least it's on the "lower" level of the roof.
It has what I always have heard referred to as "Standing Seam". I found both panels that blew off, and they're still pretty straight considering (just a couple small bends that flattened out pretty good when I drug it back inside and tried to flatten it back down), so I think they could be reused. They are solid with no sign of rust through or anything like that.
I'm looking for advice on the repairing of it. I've never done anything with this type of tin before, but I've got to do something.. The barn isn't the nicest, but with missing roofing it sure won't get any better, and if I don't do something sooner than later more will eventually blow off, and that sure won't help keep my hay, straw, or combine dry, not to mention what it'll do to the structure.
I kinda thought maybe I could lay it back down, Caulk/tar/paint the seams to seal it, and screw it down with rubber seal screws like you would use with new steel sheeting.

Dad got her out there, explained how the clutch was the same as in our o
